SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Summit League women's soccer programs combined for nine wins with eight of those coming via a shutout during the opening week of the 2022 season. Denver, North Dakota and Oral Roberts each secured a pair of shutouts, while South Dakota State went unbeaten during a three-game swing through the state of Arizona.

Western Illinois' Amy Andrews scored a pair of goals to become the third active Summit League player to rank among the top-10 goal scorers in league history. Andrews pushed her career total to 28 and joined South Dakota State's Maya Hansen (30), who scored twice as well during the opening week, and Denver's Sami Feller (28) on that list. Hansen is currently tied for seventh, while Andrews and Feller are currently among a four-way tie for 10th.

All three will get a chance to add to their totals this weekend with more #SummitWSOC action on the way.

The Pioneers hit the road for the first time this season, facing a Utah team that will be the program’s first of four Power-5 opponents it will face in 2022.

After falling 3-1 to Drake in the season opener, Kansas City salvaged a 1-1 draw with Tulsa in their second home match of the season ... Madison Page and  Lily Stedman both tallied the first goals of their collegiate careers during the opening weekend ... Page’s came in her first career match after not seeing any action as a freshman in 2021, while Stedman’s blast from 22 yards put Kansas City up 1-0 on Tulsa in the ninth minute of the match.

Amelia Loeffler scored her first Fighting Hawk goal in the 1-0 win over Southern Indiana, while Irene Jirasevijinda tallied her first career goal in a 2-0 win over Jamestown.

In the season opener against the Cowgirls, Grace Ostergaard opened the scoring in the 9th minute, but that would be the only shot the Mavericks would put on goal in the match.

Freshman Annaliese Giusto registered a first-half hat trick in the 7-0 win over Northwestern Oklahoma State and is one of four Golden Eagles with multiple goals and one of three with multiple assists early in the campaign.

Senior Maya Hansen capped the rally against the Lumberjacks with her 30th career goal as she became just the eighth player in the league history to reach that plateau.

Senior Amy Andrews, who was third in the league in scoring in 2021 with 12 goals, scored a pair of come-from-behind goals in a 2-2 draw with Eastern Michigan to push her career total to 28, which is tied for the 10th most in the Summit League recordbooks ... WIU has two more road matches on the slate at Green Bay and IUPUI before playing host to Milwaukee in its home opener on Sept. 2.
