SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Last week, Summit League teams goaltenders combined to record eight shutouts and one team picked up a clutch 1-1 draw against a Power 5 squad. That team was Omaha, who earned their second straight draw thanks to a Grace Crockett corner kick that led to a header in the box from Cece Behrens for the equalizer in the 87
th minute.
South Dakota State are winners of three straight matches, as they picked up a win in their home opener last week against Bemidji. Meanwhile, North Dakota State joins the Jackrabbits as the lone two league teams to remain undefeated with a 2-0-2 ledger. The Bison captured two neutral site victories in St. Paul, Minn., against Utah Tech (2-0) and Chicago State (4-1).
St. Thomas will play its fourth straight home match before heading to Northern Iowa on Labor Day on Monday. Western Illinois, who opened the season with three straight road matches, will play its next two games at home against Milwaukee and Loyola Chicago.
