South Dakota State sweep’s offensive and defensive peak performer weekly accolades

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The South Dakota State duo of senior forward Cece Limongi and sophomore goalkeeper Jocelyn Tanner led the Jackrabbits to a road win, a 1-1 draw at home and were named the latest TicketSmarter Summit League Women's Soccer Peak Performers of the Week. Limongi collected the offensive honor, while Tanner picked up the defensive award, league officials announced Tuesday.
 
Limongi had her highest point total of the season in the Jackrabbits' 3-0 triumph over Northern Iowa. The Danville, Calif., native notched a season-high three shots which led to her first career brace. She played in 49 minutes of the match and her goals came in the 13th and 49th minutes.
 
Limongi followed that performance playing in 65 minutes in SDSU's 1-1 home draw against Drake.
 
Tanner tied her season-high save total in SDSU's 3-0 road win against Northern Iowa with a trio of stops. The Ham Lake, Minn., native made all three saves in her 45 minutes of action in the second half. Against Drake, Tanner improved her goals against average to 0.33 on the young season, holding the Bulldogs scoreless in the first half. She ranked first in the league in goals against average and 22nd in the nation.

  • This is the second career Summit League weekly accolade for Tanner
