SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Oral Roberts guard Max Abmas claimed his second straight TicketSmarter #SummitMBB Peak Performer of the Week award, League officials announced Monday. Abmas averaged 26.7 ppg, 5.0 rpg and 3.3 apg in a trio of Golden Eagle contests last week.
After scoring 26 in a non-conference loss at a talented New Mexico squad, Abmas pushed his club’s win streak to six straight in League play with a season-high 37-point outing against Western Illinois. The senior went 12-for-16 from the field, including a 7-for-10 effort from beyond the arc in the win over the Leathernecks.
The Rockwall, Texas native added 17 points, seven rebounds and five assists in an 81-69 victory over St. Thomas. Abmas went 3-for-6 from beyond the arc against the Tommies to move into second place on the Summit League's career list for 3-pointers made with 365.
In ORU’s two League victories, Abmas went 18-for-26 from the field (69.2) and 10-for-16 (62.5) from 3-point range. He now ranks sixth nationally in scoring at 21.8 ppg and leads all Summit League players with a 24.5 ppg clip in League action.
