SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Omaha senior midfielder Grace Ostergaard and South Dakota State senior defender Hayley Lindaman were named the latest TicketSmarter Summit League Women's Soccer Offensive and Defensive Peak Performers of the Week, respectively, league officials announced Monday.
Ostergaard helped the Mavericks capture a thrilling 3-2 home victory over Kansas City in its lone match of the week. The Omaha, Neb., native tallied two assists in the final five minutes of the match to secure the win. In the 85
th minute, Ostergaard forced a turnover in the attacking third and fed a pass to Grace Bartlam, where Bartlam would find Cece Behrens for the game-tying goal.
In the 90
th minute, Sophia Green threw the ball into the box with 23 seconds on the clock and after it was intercepted by a Roo defender, Ostergaard came up with another turnover and found Marissa Gohr, who put it passed the Kansas City goalkeeper with just 19 seconds remaining to seal the win.
Lindaman helped the Jackrabbits complete another clean sheet in a 3-0 home win against St. Thomas. The River Falls, Wis., native buoyed a back line that gave up just three shots on goal in the contest. She was tied with a team-high 79 minutes of play in the match.
