SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota State freshman outside hitter Sylvie Zgonc and South Dakota sophomore libero Kamryn Farris were named the latest TicketSmarter Summit League Volleyball Peak Performers of the Week, respectively, league officials announced on Tuesday.
Zgonc led the league last week with 58 total kills and 4.46 kills per set as the Jackrabbits went 2-1 overall. The Hartford, Wis., native began her week by tallying 26 kills, including 20 kills over the first two sets, in a five-set road loss to South Dakota.
She then notched 10 kills along with an assist in a home sweep over St. Thomas. Against Kansas City, Zgonc recorded a double-double of 22 kills and 18 digs to go along with a .370 hitting percentage in a five-set home victory.
Farris averaged 4.9 digs per set through South Dakota’s two five-set home reverse sweeps. The Lansing, Kan., native earned a career-high 30 digs along with three service aces against SDSU.
Farris had 19 digs, six assists and one service ace against Omaha that ended the Mavericks’ eight-match win streak.
