#SummitWSOC Weekly Notebook: No. 8

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The third week of league action is here and a marquee matchup in the Mile High City awaits as preseason favorite Denver is set to take on South Dakota State on Thursday night. The Jackrabbits are 3-0 in league play, while the Pioneers sit at 2-0-1 overall.

Oral Roberts and South Dakota sit with six points apiece at 2-1 ledgers, while Omaha, who picked up a key scoreless draw against Denver, are 1-1-2 with five points.

Although there’s three weeks remaining in league play, a lot can change in the standings. The action gets underway on Thursday with a quartet of matches all beginning at 7 p.m. local time.

Jordan Crockett’s assist to Kaitlyn Glover in the 11th minute and game-winning goal in the 64th minute propelled Denver to a win ... Her second-half goal was the second game winner of her career and first goal since the 2021 campaign ... Despite the scoreless draw against the Mavericks, freshman goalkeeper Molly Wissman collected the fifth clean sheet of her career with a trio of saves ... The DU defense allowed just five shots on goal to Omaha and outshot the Mavericks 18-15 ... Wissman is tied for first in the league with a .333 goals against average during league competition, while Crockett’s three points in league play sits tied for eighth.

Castleberry’s three shots on goal pushed her to first place for shots on goal overall in the league with 17 and first in league play with eight ... She leads the team in shots, shots on goal, points and goals ... Kansas City host St. Thomas and the Roos are 1-0-1 all-time against the Tommies ... With the goal at SDSU, it gave UND its first goal in Brookings since 2013 ... Despite giving up three goals, Madi Livingston finished with nine saves on 12 attempts ... Her 20 overall saves in league action leads the league and her 67 overall saves tops the league charts ... North Dakota will head down the I-29 and face in-state rival North Dakota State on Sunday.

NDSU, who was limited to 10 players in the second half after a 60th minute red card, held the Tommies to three total shots in the second half ... Abby Wilkinson made a pair of saves and Alicia Nead notched three shots on goal against St. Thomas ... Wilkinson ranks second in the league with 59 total saves and has recorded a .797 save percentage, which also ranks seventh in the league.

After falling to Oral Roberts, 2-1, the Mavericks called in for reinforcements and brought in goalkeeper Mia Reedtz Rehde Olesen who notched five saves in her first start of the season ... Reedtz Rehde Olesen, the 2020 Summit League Goalkeeper of the Year, earned her ninth career shutout and helped Omaha record its first clean sheet of the campaign ... Against the Golden Eagles, Marissa Gohr scored in the 81st minute for her third goal of the season ... Grace Crockett notched her team-high fourth assist of the year ... Sophia Green’s second noteworthy goal streak of the season ended at three matches as the senior went scoreless against Oral Roberts ... Omaha will host South Dakota in its lone match of the week.

Kaycee Manding continued her strong play during SDSU’s two victories as she played 76 minutes on the Jackrabbit back row against the Bison ... Manding scored a goal following a penalty kick opportunity in the 15th minute against the Fighting Hawks, which was the first of her college career ... The Jackrabbits are one of 10 women’s soccer programs with double-digit victories so far this season ...
