SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- South Dakota has collected a pair of wins early in the season and will look for more as the Coyotes head to the Bahamas to participate in the Battle 4 Atlantis. DePaul transfer Kendall Holmes, who had 14 during her USD debut in a win over Northern State, will get to face her former team in the opener.
North Dakota's Kacie Borowicz is the reigning Summit League scoring champ and has picked up where she left off, averaging 23.5 ppg through the Fighting Hawks' opening three contests. She had a game-high 23 as UND got into the win column Wednesday with a victory over Concordia.
South Dakota State nearly picked up a road win against a Power-5 team but Wisconsin was able to make a layup at the buzzer to survive with a 66-64 win. The Jackrabbits will get another chance against a Power-5 opponent Monday but this one will be against the top-ranked team in the country as SDSU plays South Carolina in a return game from the Gamecocks' visit to the Sanford Pentagon a season ago.
