SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota guard Kendall Holmes collected the latest TicketSmarter Summit League Women’s Basketball Peak Performer of the Week honor, League officials announced Monday. The weekly accolade is the first of Holmes’ career.
Holmes scored a season-high 17 points and knocked down five 3-pointers in a 80-74 overtime win at UT-Martin to push the Coyotes’ winning streak to six consecutive games. Her season-high fifth 3-pointer came with four seconds left in regulation, tying the game at 68-68.
The DePaul transfer also added three assists and three rebounds in the victory over the Skyhawks as South Dakota improved to 9-3 on the season.
In two wins last week, Holmes averaged 16.5 ppg and finished 9-for-16 (56.3) from beyond the arc, posting back-to-back double-digit scoring games for the first time as a Coyote.
