SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – For the second time this season, Oral Roberts guard Issac McBride claimed the TicketSmarter Summit League Men's Basketball Peak Performer of the Week honor, League officials announced Monday. McBride averaged 23.5 ppg and 4.0 apg as ORU took Power 5 foe Kansas State to overtime and knocked off Tulsa in a Mayor's Cup clash last week.
McBride opened the week with 25 points and four assists against the Wildcats where regulation ended with the teams tied at 71-71. The Little Rock, Ark., native scored four points in the final 90 seconds of regulation to tying the game on a jumper and a pair of free throws. He also equaled his season-high with three steals at K-State.
In the Golden Eagles' 79-70 win over crosstown rival Tulsa, McBride scored 12 of his game-high 22 points in the second half. ORU trailed 39-36 at halftime but the senior guard sparked a 15-2 game-clinching run with just under six minutes to play to hand the Golden Eagles their third straight win over the Golden Hurricane.
It was the fifth straight 20-plus point game for McBride, who pushed his season average to 22.1 ppg, which has him in the top 10 nationally.
