#SummitMBB Weekly Notebook: No. 5

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Road wins are always hard to come by for college basketball teams. The numbers do not lie. So, for a trio of Summit League teams to find those elusive victories last week was impressive. The League had combined for just five through the first three weeks before St. Thomas ousted Western Michigan, Denver knocked off Idaho and South Dakota took down Western Illinois over the last seven days.

The Tommies' victory was the most impressive as they built a 27-point halftime lead on the Broncos and eventually won by 14. The Pioneers and Coyotes both used late-game heroics to capture their road wins. DU's Isaiah Addo-Ankrah drilled a half-dozen 3-pointers against the Vandals and his sixth with just over five seconds to play lifted the Pioneers to their second true road win of the campaign.

In Macomb, the Coyotes outlasted former Summit League foe Western Illinois on a floater by Bostyn Holt at the buzzer to give the visitors a 70-68 win.

With League play looming after Christmas, learning how to win on the road in non-conference play is a vital trait that could serve these teams well with eight road games on each of their Summit League slates.
