SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – St. Thomas sophomore Jo Langbehn was named this week's TicketSmarter Summit League Women's Basketball Peak Performer of the Week, League officials announced Monday. The Tommie forward averaged 24.0 ppg on 74 percent shooting from the floor to help St. Thomas to its first Summit League road sweep since joining the conference a year ago.
In the Tommies' 75-70 win at Oral Roberts, Langbehn finished with a team-high 19 points on 8-for-11 shooting from the floor to go along with five rebounds. In a game that featured seven tied scores and three lead changes, Langbehn helped push St. Thomas into the lead late in the third quarter. She connected on back-to-back layups to tie the game at 50-50. From there, the Tommies were able to take hold of the lead for good to finish off the season sweep of the Golden Eagles.
In an 80-57 win at Kansas City, Langbehn dropped a career-high 29 points on 12-for-16 shooting. She also added two rebounds, a pair of assists and a steal to her stat line in UST's second victory over the Roos this season.
The Elk River, Minn., native gave St. Thomas a spark from the start as she opened the first three minutes of play with four of the Tommies' eight points. From there, she capitalized on the momentum and finished the first half with 15 of her 29 points.
Langbehn finished the two victories with 20 made field goals on just 27 attempts.
