#SummitWSOC Weekly Notebook: No. 3

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota State remains the lone league team to remain undefeated as the Jackrabbits are 4-0 entering week three. They have outscored their opponents 14-2 and they’re the highest scoring league team so far. In the latest United Soccer Coaches’ West Region rankings, SDSU sits ninth in the standings.

Meanwhile, St. Thomas has only given up one goal in four matches and sit second in the standings with a 2-1-1 ledger. Denver’s match against Northern Colorado is the third of four non-conference clashes against in-state opponents after hosting Colorado State and then traveling to Colorado College. The Pioneers are undefeated against the Bears holding a 7-0 record.

Oral Roberts and South Dakota are tied for third in the standings, having both five points under their belts. Along with the Pioneers, Kansas City, North Dakota and North Dakota State have four points thus far.

Her defensive efforts helped the Golden Eagles record eight saves in the week ... Junior goalkeeper Olivia Rowe, who received the TicketSmarter Summit League Women’s Soccer Defensive Peak Performer of the Week, notched back-to-back clean sheets where she made 12 saves, including nine against the Vikings ... Camryn Rintoul (47th minute), Abby Brantner (49th minute), Lexi Huber (72nd minute) and Abby Hoiska (75th minute) all scored for the Tommies ... Against Western Oregon, Rowe made three saves while Mariah Nguyen led the way for the offense with three shots on goal ... After two weeks of play, Rowe tops the league charts with a .263 goals against average and is tied for second in the league with 19 saves this season and ranks.

Against Iowa State, Murdzek tied the game on a 71st minute goal and in total, she recorded six shots with three being on target ... Maya Hansen posted the game-winning goal against the Cyclones and with her 44 career goals, she is five goals away from breaking the league record held by Oral Roberts’ Jessica Kellogg (2002-05) ...
