SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Denver’s Liv Moritz and South Dakota State’s Jocelyn Tanner were named the latest TicketSmarter Summit League Women’s Soccer Peak Performers of the Week. Moritz received the offensive honor, while Tanner collected the defensive award, league officials announced on Monday.
Moritz notched a trio of goals in two wins over the weekend, including the first brace of her career in a win over Power-5 foe Oregon. The freshman earned her third goal of the season to open the scoring with what would be the game-winner in a 6-0 triumph over Colgate.
The Vail, Colo., native registered both goals in DU's 2-0 win over the Ducks. She broke the tie with a 51
st-minute header and then added a second goal less than nine minutes later. Her eight shots in Eugene were the most by a DU student-athlete in any match this season. Moritz has now had at least one point in each of her last three matches and five in the Pioneers’ eight matches so far this season.
Tanner and the Jackrabbits produced two clean sheets over the past week in which the senior goalkeeper made seven combined saves. In a 1-0 win over Grand Canyon, the Ham Lake, Minn., native made five saves, including three in the span of 12 minutes in the first half of play. Against Green Bay, she snagged two more saves to help SDSU capture a 5-0 victory and currently holds a 5-1 record.
