DU's Bruner, Omaha's Fidler share TicketSmarter #SummitMBB weekly accolade

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Denver guard Tommy Bruner and Omaha forward Frankie Fidler shared the latest TicketSmarter Summit League Men's Basketball Peak Performer of the Week honor, League officials announced Tuesday.

Bruner and Fidler both averaged nearly 30.0 ppg in leading their respective teams to splits during the opening weekend of Summit League play.

Bruner racked up his third weekly award of the season after averaging 28.5 ppg and 6.5 apg for the Pioneers. In DU's 95-80 win at Omaha, the Columbia, S.C., native led the way with 25 points and equaled his season-high with eight assists as the Pioneers won a road opener for the first time since 2011-12.

In the Pioneers' 89-86 overtime loss to Oral Roberts, Bruner scored 24 of his game-high 32 points after halftime, helping DU erase a 14-point deficit to force the extra session. It was the fourth 30-plus point scoring game of the season for Bruner, who continues to lead all Division I players in scoring this season at 24.7 ppg.

Fidler earned the first weekly award of his career after averaging 29.5 ppg, 3.5 rpg and 3.5 spg in the Mavericks' first two Summit League games. In the two games, Fidler shot 57 percent from the field (17-for-30) and also went 20-for-22 from the foul stripe.

Fidler scored a season-high 32 points and equaled his career-high with four steals in Omaha's home loss to Denver. The Omaha native then scored 15 of his game-high 27 points in the first half of a 67-51 road win at South Dakota. Fidler added four rebounds and three more steals against the Coyotes.
