SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Oral Roberts guard Taleyah Jones claimed the latest TicketSmarter Summit League Women’s Basketball Peak Performer of the Week honor, League officials announced Tuesday. The weekly accolade is the first of Jones’ career.
Jones scored 20 points in both of ORU’s home victories to open Summit League play last weekend.
In the 76-61 victory over Kansas City, Jones went 8-for-14 from the floor and added three rebounds and three assists. Jones had eight points in the opening quarter as ORU opened the game on an 11-0 run and never trailed.
The Broken Arrow, Okla., native made eight more field goals in the 95-64 win over Denver, including a 3-for-6 effort from beyond the arc. She also pulled in six rebounds and added two steals to help ORU start 2-0 in League play for the first time since 2020-21.
This also marked the first time Jones went for 20 or more in back-to-back games and she now has six total 20-plus point scoring games in her first season with ORU. With a 4-for-4 effort from the foul line in the two wins, Jones ranks fourth nationally with a 93.2 percent clip.
