NDSU’s Evans, SDSU’s Meyer share TicketSmarter #SummitWBB weekly honors

Evans, Meyer help respective teams to victories, garner latest weekly accolades

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – North Dakota State guard Elle Evans and South Dakota State forward Brooklyn Meyer share the latest TicketSmarter Summit League Women’s Basketball Peak Performer of the Week accolades, League officials released Monday. It is the first career honor for Evans and the second for Meyer.
 
Evans helped NDSU to an 85-52 win over St. Thomas to improve to 5-1 in League play. The Bison sophomore recorded a career-high 29 points on 7-for-7 shooting from three and 9-for-14 from the field. She also buried all four free throw attempts to go along with a game-high three blocks. Her 7-for-7 effort from beyond the arc equaled two other Division I players for the most makes without a miss this season.
 
Her 29-point game was her third straight 20-plus point game and her seven three-pointers equaled the fourth-most in a single game in NDSU history.
 
Meyer was instrumental in guiding SDSU to a 2-0 week to remain unbeaten in League play. In a 72-49 win over Kansas City, the Jackrabbit sophomore tallied 11 points, seven rebounds and a career-high seven steals, which were the most by a Summit League player in a game this season.
 
The Larchwood, Iowa native then led the Jacks to a 96-80 victory over Oral Roberts finishing with 27 points on 12-for-13 shooting from the floor. She also added six rebounds and two blocks to her stat line. She now has 42 blocks on the season, which is tied for the second-most blocks by an SDSU sophomore in program history.
 
For the week, Meyer averaged 19.0 ppg and 6.5 rpg while shooting 70.8 percent from the field.
