DU's Bruner claims fourth TicketSmarter #SummitMBB weekly accolade

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Denver guard Tommy Bruner collected his fourth TicketSmarter Summit League Men’s Basketball Peak Performer of the Week honor of the season, League officials announced Monday.

Bruner pushed his national-leading scoring average to 25.2 ppg after putting up 60 points in a pair of Big Sky-Summit Challenge matchups last week.
 
The Columbia, S.C., native registered his fifth 30-point plus game of the season after going for 33 points, six assists and five rebounds in a 95-82 overtime win against Idaho State. He made two triples in the extra session to help the Pioneers outscore the Bengals 17-5.

After scoring three first-half points as Northern Colorado built a 51-34 halftime lead, Bruner tallied 24 second-half points to finish with 27 against the Bears. He went 4-for-7 from 3-point territory and added five assists as DU closed within two points in the closing minutes before UNC prevailed with an 86-82 win.
 
For the week, Bruner went 7-for-11 on 3-pointers and took over the Summit League lead in assists, pushing his average to 4.2 apg after dishing out 11 total.
