Around The League
• With a pair of 1-0 victories last week, South Dakota State moved to the top of the standings with a 3-0-0 record through the opening two weeks of league play.
• Oral Roberts and North Dakota State also remained unbeaten and are tied for second as each program holds a 2-0-1 ledger and seven points.
• The Golden Eagles hold that line thanks to a 4-2 victory over the Pioneers at home. With the win over the Pioneers, Oral Roberts head into week three of league play ranked No. 10 in the United States Soccer Coaches West Region poll.
• Golden Eagle goalkeeper Alexa Riefer made 10 saves in the matchup against the Pios, bringing her season total to 74 and ranking her first in the Summit League and 13th in the nation in saves.
• Julia Thasaphong came up clutch for the Golden Eagles, earning her second brace of the season, including a 60th-minute goal that was her third game-winner of the season.
• North Dakota State came out strong during its lone match last week against in-state rival North Dakota. Sophomore Gabrielle Garret opened the scoring just 54 seconds into the contest. Morgan Russmann then broke a 1-1 tie for the Bison in the 52nd minute and the visitors were able to preserve a 2-1 win over the Fighting Hawks.
• The Jackrabbits scored fast in their 1-0 win over Kansas City as Katelyn Buelke's goal 41 seconds into the contest was tied for the second fastest ever in program history. It also was the only tally of the match for the Jackrabbits, who logged their sixth shutout of the campaign.
• SDSU would get its seventh clean sheet three days later at St. Thomas in another 1-0 victory. This time, the Jackrabbits' goal came late in the match when Adrianne Agbayani scored the decisive goal in the 82nd minute of the match.
• Tommie goalkeeper Kendell Ellis made four saves prior to the late tally by SDSU.
• Denver started the match against Oral Roberts with its fastest goal this season when Jadyn Goodrich converted a corner kick in the fourth minute. The Pioneers would yield four answered goals, however, and drop their first match to ORU since 2017 by the score of 4-2.
• The Coyotes finished the week 1-1-0 at home, falling to Omaha 1-0 before bouncing back with a 4-2 win over Kansas City.
• The Mavericks' Alyssa Kellar scored her fifth goal of the season in the 69th minute to lift Omaha past the Coyotes in what was their lone action last week.
• In the Coyotes win over the Roos, Izzy Quintavalle scored her first career brace and added an assist as USD provided head coach Michael Thomas with his 50th career victory, which moved him to the top of the program's all-time wins chart.
