SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Denver midfielder Ella Frost and Omaha defender Grace Crockett were named the latest Summit League Women’s Soccer Peak Performers of the Week. Frost collected the offensive accolade, while Crockett earned the defensive honor, league officials announced Monday.
Frost scored three goals and provided both game-winning goals for Denver during a 2-0-0 week for the Pios. In their 3-1 victory over St. Thomas, Frost scored the second goal and eventual game-winner in the 31
st minute, four minutes after DU’s first goal of the game scored by Hannah Tate.
In Denver’s 2-1 win over North Dakota State, the Palos Verdes Estates, Calif., native earned her second career brace. Frost tallied her first goal against the Bison, a minute and thirteen seconds after the Bison had taken a 1-0 lead. Frost came up clutch at the 80
th minute, converting a penalty kick to secure the win for Denver.
Crockett led the Omaha defense this past weekend as the unit provided back-to-back shutouts for the Mavericks. The graduate student logged 163 minutes between 1-0 wins over North Dakota and St. Thomas.
In the 18th minute of the match against the Tommies, the Mavericks scored the lone goal of the game with an assist from Crockett. That assist gave the Omaha, Neb., native a total of 15 career assists which sets the new program record in Omaha’s Division I era.
