St. Thomas’ Hill nets season-opening #SummitWBB weekly honor

Tommies’ Hill captures first career peak performer of the week accolade

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – St. Thomas senior guard Jade Hill garnered the season’s first Summit League Women’s Basketball Peak Performer of the Week award, League officials unveiled Monday. Hill captured her first career weekly honor after helping the Tommies to their first-ever 3-0 start in the DI era.
 
Hill opened the season with a UST DI era record and career-high 35 points in the Tommies' 84-81 overtime victory over Milwaukee. Seventeen of her 35 points came in the second half, with 12 of those acquired in the fourth quarter alone.
 
With 26 seconds left in regulation, Hill had the game-tying basket sending it to overtime. In overtime, one of her two steals led St. Thomas to push ahead 82-80 on free throws by teammate Phoebe Frentzel. Hill would then clinch the victory for UST with two free throws with 21 seconds remaining in the game.
 
Against Northern Illinois, Hill dropped a game-high 21 points to help lead the Tommies to a 75-68 road win. Eighteen of her 21 points came in the second half with 11 of those 18 in the fourth quarter. She also added a steal, an assist and a rebound to her statline.
 
In 17 minutes of play in the 99-33 win over Crown, Hill tallied nine points, five assists, a pair of steals and a pair of rebounds.
