UND's Eaglestaff earns latest #SummitMBB weekly honor

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – North Dakota junior Treysen Eaglestaff collected the latest Summit League Men’s Basketball Peak Performer of the Week honor, League officials announced Monday. Eaglestaff averaged 20.5 ppg as he racked up his fourth career weekly honor and first of the season.

Eaglestaff scored 21 of his season-high 31 points in the second half of North Dakota’s 77-70 victory over Utah Valley to lead the Fighting Hawks to back-to-back wins last week. He went 10-for-17 from the field, including a 3-for-6 effort from beyond the arc against the Wolverines to tally the most points by a Summit League player in a game this season.

The Bismarck, N.D. native made two of his triples in the final six minutes to seal the victory and also finished 8-for-9 from the charity stripe, including a 4-for-4 effort in closing 90 seconds.

In his return to his home city earlier in the week, Eaglestaff scored 17 and added four rebounds and four assists in just 23 minutes during an 85-54 win over Dickinson State in the Capital City Classic.
