SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Omaha outside hitter Kali Jurgensmeier and South Dakota defensive specialist Kamryn Farris were named the Summit League Volleyball Peak Performers of the Week, respectively, league officials announced on Tuesday.
Jurgensmeier, who earned her first career offensive award, totaled 29 kills and seven total blocks as the Mavericks went 1-1 during the sixth week of conference play.
The Wahoo, Neb., native recorded back-to-back matches with double digit kills. Jurgensmeier garnered 17 kills, three blocks, a .342 hitting percentage, and was responsible for 18.5 points in a four-set loss to South Dakota State.
The Maverick junior then registered 12 kills, four total blocks, and 14.0 points in a three-set victory over St. Thomas. Jurgensmeier is currently fourth in the Summit League in points per set.
Farris, who earned her second weekly award of the season, totaled 36 digs, 12 assists, and three service aces as the Coyotes went 2-0 to improve to 9-3 overall in Summit action.
The Lansing, Kan., native recorded two matches with double digit digs. Farris garnered 17 digs, eight assists, and two service aces during the Coyotes’ four-set win over North Dakota.
The Coyote junior then registered 19 digs, four assists, and one service ace in a three-set victory over Oral Roberts. Farris leads the Summit League with 232 total digs and a 4.94 digs per set average during conference play.
