SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Our Summit League women’s basketball programs are closing out the year and the nonconference schedule in the next week and a half with a majority of our teams having at least one game left to play.
The final few days of the nonconference slate kickoff today at 4 p.m. CT with North Dakota State at Washington while the journey to Sioux Falls and a tournament title officially begins Thursday, Jan. 2.

2025 Basketball Championships
The 2025 #SummitWBB Championship will be held at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center once again. All nine members will be part of the field for the event that will be held March 5-9 in Sioux Falls. The opening round will feature matchups between the No. 8 and No. 9 seeds for both genders and start on Wednesday with both title games set for Sunday on CBS Sports Network. AROUND THE LEAGUE
- (RV/RV) South Dakota State continues to roll through its non-conference schedule currently holding a 10-2 record and riding a seven-game winning streak. Over the last week, the Jackrabbits secured wins over Dakota Wesleyan (76-48), Northern Iowa (68-53) and Dakota State (84-47).
- Haleigh Timmer was a key factor in the last three games, posting double-digit scoring efforts in all three games. Through three games she averaged 15.6 ppg and 7.0 rpg and had a career-high 26-point performance against Dakota Wesleyan. She was 9-for-12 from the floor, including 5-for-6 from deep in the win.
- Omaha picked up a 73-66 win over Lindenwood for its sixth straight win on the season. Senior Ja Harvey led the efforts with a career-high 19 points including going a perfect 6-for-6 from the charity stripe. She also pulled down six rebounds, dished out two assists and pulled down a pair of steals in the win.
- North Dakota is now 5-7 on the season after picking up wins over Bethel (62-42) and Mayville State (73-61). In the wins, Kiera Pemberton shined as she averaged a double-double of 20.0 ppg and 10.0 rpg. Against Mayville, the sophomore forward recorded her third double-double of the season with 25 points and a career-best 14 rebounds.
- The latest peak performer of the week, Jade Hill, paced to Tommies to a 69-56 win over Western Illinois. The senior dropped a team-leading 26 points on 9-for-15 shooting, including a pair of threes and a 6-for-6 mark from the free throw line. She also added four assists, three rebounds and two steals to the stat line.
- Oral Roberts, who is now ranked No. 24 in CollegeInsider.com’s Mid-Major Top 25 poll, picked up a win over Oklahoma City (99-55) and a loss to (10/11) Oklahoma (94-54). Jalei Oglesby paced the Golden Eagles with 21.5 ppg on 69.2 percent shooting from the field to go along with 8.0 rpg. Highlight her week was her career-high-tying 29-point performance against Oklahoma City.
- Denver moved to 5-6 on the year after a 64-53 win over Northern Colorado and a 63-60 loss to Texas State. Jordan Jones finished with 22 points in both games last week. In the victory over UNC, she packed the stat sheet with 22 points, seven rebounds, six assists, three steals and one block.
- North Dakota State is now 6-4 after a 67-61 loss to Tulane. Freshman guard Marisa Frost recorded her fifth straight game in double digits finishing with a team-high 16 points on 5-for-9 shooting from the floor. She also added five steals, four rebounds, three assists and a block to her stat line.
- South Dakota fell to 4-8 after losses to Northern Iowa (78-59) and Wyoming (79-45). Grace Larkins once again paced the pack averaging a double-double of 14.5 ppg and 10.5 rpg. Against UNI, she was an assist away from a triple-double, finishing with 17 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists.
- Kansas City is 3-9 after losses last week to Kansas (79-49) and Tulsa (89-61). Alayna Contreras led the Roos averaging 17.5 ppg and 3.0 rpg through both losses. She shined offensively against Tulsa, finishing with a game-high 22 points.
