UND's Eaglestaff corrals TicketSmarter #SummitMBB weekly honor

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – North Dakota guard Treysen Eaglestaff corraled the latest TicketSmarter Summit League Men’s Basketball Peak Performer of the Week honor of the season, League officials announced Monday. The weekly honor is the third of the season for Eaglestaff, which is the second most among League players.

Eaglestaff averaged 25.0 ppg, made 15-of-16 free throws and shot 56 percent from the floor in leading the Fighting Hawks to a pair of double-digit road wins and back to the top of the Summit League standings.

He opened his week by scoring a career-high 33 points in a 92-78 road win at Denver. The Bismarck, native scored 27 of those points in the second half and fueled a game-ending 26-12 run over the closing 6:12 to seal a season sweep of the Pioneers.

Eaglestaff hit all five of his triples in the final 10:23 of the contest and his third broke a 66-66 tie that gave UND the lead for good at the 6:12 mark. The Fighting Hawks outscored DU 26-12 from that point on with Eaglestaff contributing 16 of those points.

In UND’s 78-65 win at Oral Roberts, Eaglestaff scored 17 points and went 6-for-14 from the field. Three of his four rebounds against the Golden Eagles came on the offensive end as the Fighting Hawks improved to 9-4 overall in League play and 5-2 in road games.
