UND's Kuljohovic claims TicketSmarter #SummitMBB weekly award

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – North Dakota forward Amar Kuljuhovic claimed the latest TicketSmarter Summit League Men’s Basketball Peak Performer of the Week honor of the season, League officials announced Monday. The weekly honor is the first of Kuljuhovic’s career as he became the third different Fighting Hawk to garner the award this season.

Kuljohovic averaged a double-double, scoring 14.0 ppg and pulling down 15.0 rpg in wins over South Dakota and North Dakota State as UND stretched its winning streak to six and moved into a tie for first place in the Summit League standings.

In the 95-81 road win over the Coyotes, Kuljuhovic scored 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting from the field and secured a career-high 17 rebounds to post his fifth double-double of the season. The Waterloo, Iowa native had seven offensive rebounds to help UND put a season-high point total.

In the 60-58 victory over in-state rival NDSU, Kuljuhovic scored the game-winning layup with 2.6 seconds to play and finished with his sixth double-double of the season. The junior scored 11 points to go with 13 rebounds and added two assists, two blocks and a steal against the Bison.

For the week, Kuljuhovic pulled down 11 offensive rebounds to go with 19 defensive boards and shot 52 percent from the floor.
