SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Oral Roberts forward Julia Thasaphong and Omaha defender Regan Zimmers were named the Summit League Women’s Soccer Peak Performers of the Week following the fifth week of the 2024 season. Thasaphong collected the offensive accolade, while Zimmers earned the defensive honor, league officials announced Monday.
Thasaphong scored three goals, including both game-winners during the Golden Eagles’ back-to-back wins against Missouri State and Little Rock. The Iceland native scored her game-winner against Bears in the 16
th minute of ORU’s 2-1 victory.
In the 5-0 win over the Trojans, Thasaphong recorded her first career brace, tallying the eventual game-winner in the 23
rd minute and scoring the second goal just three minutes later.
Zimmers logged all 180 minutes in the Mavericks’ two victories over UC Santa Barbara and Northern Iowa. Zimmers helped UNO to its fourth straight shutout and fifth of the season in the 1-0 road win over the Gauchos.
In the 2-1 victory over the Panthers, the Omaha native helped limit the Missouri Valley’s top-scoring unit to just one tally and three shots on goal.
She tied the match at 1-1 in the 76
th minute, heading home a free kick from Grace Crockett. Zimmers then assisted on the game-winning goal in the 88
th minute as Omaha improved to 6-0-2.
