SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – St. Thomas forward Lexi Huber and Denver defender Emma Thielbahr were named the Summit League Women’s Soccer Peak Performers of the Week following the third week of the 2024 season. Huber collected the offensive accolade, while Thielbahr earned the defensive honor, league officials announced Tuesday.
Huber finished the weekend with a pair of game winning goals as the Tommies knocked off Marist and Siena to register their first two wins of the season. The UST senior put her squad up five minutes into the match with Marist and the goal head up in the 1-0 victory over the Red Foxes.
In the win over the Saints, Huber’s game-winner broke a 1-1 tie as she beat the Siena goalkeeper with 37 seconds left on the clock. The Lakeland, Minn., native now shares the Summit League lead with three goals on the season.
Thielbahr was a key player on the back line for the Pioneers, who have now reeled off four consecutive shutout-victories, including a pair of 2-0 wins over CSUN and Colorado College last week. DU played the final 28 minutes of the match vs. CC with only 10 players.
The redshirt sophomore helped DU surrender just 10 combined shots on goal in the two victories as she played all 90 minutes in each match. The Sandpoint, Idaho native is the lone Pio to play all 540 minutes this season.
