ORU's McBride claims #SummitMBB weekly honor

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Oral Roberts guard Issac McBride claimed the latest Summit League Men’s Basketball Peak Performer of the Week honor of the season, League officials announced Monday. McBride averaged 36.0 ppg, 3.5 apg and shot 60 percent from the floor as the Golden Eagles split a pair of Summit League home tilts.

The Summit League Preseason Player of the Year scored a career-high 44 points and went 8-for-12 from 3-point range in a 110-96 loss to North Dakota State. His 44 points were also the second most scored by a Division I player in a game this season, trailing only Creighton’s Ryan Kalkbrenner, who had 49 on opening night against UTRGV.

McBride’s eight triples were the most in a game by a conference player this season as he finished 14-for-21 from the field and added five assists against the Bison.

In ORU’s 83-79 victory over North Dakota, McBride led all scorers with 28 points and finished 10-for-19 from the field. His second triple doubled the Golden Eagles’ lead in the closing minute as they earned their first conference win of the season.
