SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – For the second consecutive week, South Dakota’s Grace Larkins ran away with this week’s Summit League Women’s Basketball Peak Performer of the Week honor, League officials announced Monday. The senior guard averaged a double-double of 39.5 ppg and 12.5 rpg in a pair of USD victories and dropped the second-most points scored by an NCAA Division I women’s basketball player so far this season.
In a 77-60 win over St. Thomas, Larkins tied her then career-high with 34 points while shooting 59 percent from the floor. She also pulled down 12 rebounds, dished out eight assists and stole the ball twice in the win over the Tommies.
Larkins carried that momentum into the 71-66 victory over Omaha. The Altoona, Iowa, native dropped a USD single-game scoring record of 45 points to go along with 13 rebounds, six assists, and three steals. She also set the South Dakota single-game record for field goals in a game with 19 makes.
Larkins’ 45 points are the second most in a game of any NCAA Division I women’s basketball player this season and the third most by a Summit League player in league history.
