KC’s Porter, UST’s Rowe earn Kwik Star #SummitWSOC weekly awards

The Roos and Tommies garner peak performer weekly honors

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Kansas City forward Riley Porter and St. Thomas goalkeeper Olivia Rowe were named Kwik Star Summit League Women’s Soccer Peak Performers of the Week with one week to go in the regular season. Porter earned the offensive honor, while Rowe collected the defensive accolade, league officials announced Tuesday. The weekly awards mark the first of Porter’s career and second of Rowe’s career.

Porter made the most of her first two starts of the season, finding the back of the net in both of Kansas City’s road wins at North Dakota State (3-1) and North Dakota (2-1). The Kansas City, Kan., native was perfect on the week, scoring twice on just two shot attempts. Her strike in the 81st minute against the Fighting Hawks on Sunday marked the game-winner to earn the weekend sweep.

With the pair of victories this past week, the Roos moved into fourth place in the standings and clinched a spot in the Summit League Championship.

Rowe anchored the Tommies in net, guiding UST to a pair of 1-1 draws against Denver and North Dakota State this past week. The Ramsey, Minn., native totaled 14 saves across both contests while logging all 180 minutes in goal.

The St. Thomas netminder leads the league with 98 saves and owns a .772 save percentage, ranking fourth among Summit League goalkeepers.
