2025 #SummitWSOC Championship bracket set, Golden Eagles garner top seed

Oral Roberts claims No. 1 seed for the first time since 2004

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The 2025 Summit League Women's Championship bracket was revealed by league officials on Sunday with Oral Roberts claiming the No. 1 seed. The Golden Eagles clinched a share of the regular season title following a 1-0 victory over North Dakota State Thursday night.

Denver earned the No. 2 seed and secured a share of the regular season title after knocking in a pair of goals in the final ten minutes to defeat South Dakota 2-1 in Sunday’s regular season finale. The Pioneers have been a top-two seed in each of the past 10 seasons.

The Golden Eagles won the program’s fourth Summit League regular season title and first since 2004 when they posted a 5-1-0 league record and won the tournament championship. Last season, ORU came up just short of a Summit League Championship title as the No. 5 seed, falling to South Dakota State 3-1 in the championship game.

Oral Roberts finished with 19 points and a 6-1-1 record after tallying 12 points and placing fifth with a 3-2-3 league mark a season ago. Denver earned the No. 2 seed after also collecting 19 points and a 6-1-1 league mark. The Pioneers secured the No. 2 seed for the second straight year and have earned at least a share of the regular season title in seven of the past eight seasons.

ORU earned a first-round bye along with DU and will host both semifinal matches on Thursday, Nov. 6 and the final on Sunday, Nov. 9 at the Case Soccer Complex in Tulsa, Okla. The Golden Eagles will be hosting the tournament for the sixth time.

The six-team, single-elimination tournament will also feature two quarterfinal matches next weekend, which will be hosted by No. 3 seed and reigning tournament champion South Dakota State and No. 4 seed South Dakota. All five matches will be streamed on the Summit League Network.

SDSU defeated Oral Roberts 3-2 to round out the regular season and will play No. 6 seed Omaha next Saturday at 5 p.m. CT at Fishback Soccer Stadium in Brookings. South Dakota State took a 3-1 victory at home against the Mavs in their lone regular season matchup on Oct. 12. The Jackrabbits finished with 15 points and 4-1-3 league record.

South Dakota completed the regular season with 11 points and a 3-3-2 record mark. The Yotes will host No. 5 seed Kansas City on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT in Vermillion. The Roos, who played South Dakota to a 1-1 draw on Oct. 9, were fifth on the table with 11 points and identical 3-3-2 Summit ledger.

The Coyotes held the tiebreaker between those two squads thanks to a plus-two goal differential in league matches. This will be USD’s first time hosting a Summit League postseason match.

The Mavericks, who were the No. 4 seed a season ago, secured the final spot with a thrilling 2-1 victory over Kansas City to finish the regular season with 10 points and a 3-4-1 record. Omaha’s Addie LaRock scored the go-ahead and postseason-clinching goal in the 84th minute.

The winner of Sunday’s title match will earn the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
