SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – North Dakota forward Charlie Basinet and South Dakota goalkeeper Kelsie Luquin were deemed the final Kwik Star Summit League Women’s Soccer Peak Performers of the Week for 2025. Basinet earned the offensive award, while Luquin garnered the defensive honor, league officials announced Tuesday. The weekly awards mark the second of the season and career for Basinet and the first of Luquin’s career.
Basinet capped her sophomore campaign on a high note, netting a brace in North Dakota’s 5-2 road win over St. Thomas. The performance marked her second multi-goal outing of the season and brought her season total to eight goals, tying for second in the Summit League rankings. The San Diego, Calif., native opened the scoring with back-to-back goals to give the Fighting Hawks an early 2-0 lead before UND extended its advantage to 5-0 with three more goals.
In just her second start of the season, Kelsie Luquin anchored the Yotes to a 2-0 shutout win over Omaha on Thursday night, earning the first cleansheet of her career. The Ontario, Calif., native tallied five saves in a full 90 minutes of action, bringing her season total to seven and helping South Dakota secure the No. 4 seed in the Summit League Championship.
The victory allows South Dakota to host the quarterfinal round against No. 5 seed Kansas City on Sunday afternoon.
