#SummitWSOC Weekly Notebook: No. 14 (NCAA Tournament Edition)

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The South Dakota State Jackrabbits captured their third consecutive Summit League title with a 2-0 shutout of top-seeded Oral Roberts in last Sunday’s championship match. The victory marked SDSU’s ninth league title, setting a Summit League record.

Following a quick celebration, SDSU settled in Monday evening to discover where they would be headed for the 2025 NCAA Women’s College Cup.

South Dakota State didn’t have to wait long to find out they would be heading to Iowa City to face Big Ten opponent Iowa. The Hawkeyes are entering their third NCAA Tournament in a row, a program record. Kickoff is set for Friday, Nov. 14, at 5 p.m. CT and will be streamed live on ESPN+.

The Jackrabbits and Hawkeyes will square off for the first time in 16 years and fourth time overall. The most recent meeting in 2009 saw Iowa win 2-0 in Iowa City. The Hawkeyes hold the advantage over the Jacks, leading the series 2-1. SDSU’s lone victory was a 2-1 triumph in 2008.
