SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – St. Thomas guard Nolan Minessale earned the latest Kwik Star Summit League Men’s Basketball Peak Performer of the Week accolade of the season, league officials announced Tuesday. Minessale’s weekly recognition is the first of his career.
In three games for the Tommies last week, the sophomore averaged 21.3 ppg and 5.0 rpg as St. Thomas picked up a home win over Green Bay and road win at Southeast Missouri State.
The Brookfield, Wis., native extended his season-opening streak of 20-plus scoring games to five as he tallied 20 at Washington State, put up 20 again vs. the Phoenix and matched his season-high with 24 against the preseason Ohio Valley Conference favorites.
Minessale also had six rebounds in wins over Green Bay and SEMO and matched his season-high with six assists against the Cougars. He went a collective 21-for-35 (60 percent) from the field as St. Thomas improved to 3-2 on the campaign.
