SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- After 0-2 starts, both North Dakota State and South Dakota have reeled off three straight victories as teams start to find a rhythm following the second week of the season. The Bison have gotten a boost from the return of guard Damari Wheeler-Thomas, who missed all of last season with an injury.
Wheeler-Thomas poured in a season-high 24 points in a 92-85 win over Southern Illinois that moved the Bison over the .500 mark on the season.
The Coyotes have been rolling thanks to the strong guard player of Shey Eberwein and Uzziah Bunty as they picked up home wins over Southern Indiana and Western Michigan last week. USD tops all Summit teams in scoring at 89.6 ppg, which is a category they led in a year ago as well.
With the Thanksgiving Holiday looming, teams are starting to see multi-team events pop up on the schedule as North Dakota, Omaha, Oral Roberts, St. Thomas and South Dakota State all have one coming up on their respective schedules.
