SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – North Dakota State forward Avery Koenen was deemed the Summit League Women’s Basketball Kwik Star Peak Performer of the Week, league officials announced Tuesday. The weekly award marked Koenen’s third of her career and second this season.
Koenen paced the Bison and powered them to a league-leading sixth straight win as North Dakota State cruised to an 83-55 road victory at Eastern Illinois. The junior finished with a game-high 22 points in 25 minutes and pulled down a career-best 16 rebounds to secure her fourth consecutive double-double.
The Montevideo, Minn., native’s double-double was her sixth of the season, which is tied for fourth nationally. She also ranks fourth in the country with a 69.1 percent field-goal percentage and rounded out the win over the Panthers with four steals, three assists, and a block.
Koenen is averaging 18.2 ppg, ranking third in the league, while her 10.0 rebounds per contest place her second.
