UST's Minessale garners third Kwik Star #SummitMBB weekly honor

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – St. Thomas guard Nolan Minessale garnered his third Kwik Star Summit League Men’s Basketball Peak Performer of the Week accolade of the season, league officials announced Tuesday.

Minessale closed out the Big Sky-Summit Challenge with the best game of the season, pouring in a career-high 32 points to lead the Tommies to an 88-65 win over visiting Weber State. He went 12-for-16 from the field against the Wildcats and also dished out five assists and added four steals.

Minessale’s 32 points are the most in a game by a Summit League player this season and matched UST’s Division I single-game scoring record. He had 13 points and four assists in the opening game of the challenge vs. Montana State.

The Brookfield, Wis., native went 17-for-25 during the two challenge games and also totaled seven steals and three blocks. He ranks 11th among the nation’s top scorers, pouring in a league-best 21.2 ppg through 11 games.
