KC's Brown earns Kwik Star #SummitMBB weekly honor

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Kansas City guard Jamar Brown earned the latest Kwik Star Summit League Men’s Basketball Peak Performer of the Week honor, League officials announced Monday. Brown put up a pair of 20-plus point performances for the Roos, including a career-high equaling 29 in a win over North Dakota.

Brown opened the week with his fifth double-double of the season, scoring 26 points and grabbing 12 rebounds in a 78-72 loss to North Dakota State. His five double-doubles are tied for second most among Summit players with four coming in league play.

The Chandler, Ariz., native went 9-for-16 from the field, including a 4-for-7 effort from beyond the arc against the Bison. Six of his rebounds came on the offensive end and he also added three steals.

Brown’s next outing saw him equal his career-high with 29 points as the Roos snapped an eight-game losing streak with an 80-69 win over North Dakota. He made a career-high six 3-pointers in the victory and made all nine of his free throw attempts as KC moved into a share of sixth place in the league standings with UND.

The preseason all-league first team selection finished the week shooting 67 percent from 3-point range, going 10-for-15. He was also perfect from the foul line, making all 13 of his attempts.
