SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – South Dakota State center Oscar Cluff netted the latest Kwik Star Summit League Men’s Basketball Peak Performer of the Week honor, League officials announced Monday. The Jackrabbit big man collected his fifth weekly honor of his debut season with SDSU after averaging 23.0 ppg, 15.5 rpg and 5.5 apg in a pair of SDSU wins over Omaha and South Dakota.
Cluff opened the week with a 25-point, 15-rebound, six-assist outing in a 98-85 win over Omaha, who was leading the Summit standings going into the week. The Sunshine Coast, Australia native went 7-for-12 from the field and 10-for-12 from the foul stripe in the win over the Mavericks.
In a 94-91 road win at in-state rival South Dakota, Cluff finished with 21 points, 16 rebounds, including eight on the offensive glass, and added five assists. He went 10-for-15 from the field as he posted his 18
th double-double of the season, which is tied for second among Division I players.
His back-to-back 20-point, 15-rebound contests also pushed his season total to seven in that category, which tops all Division I players. Top-ranked Auburn’s Johni Broome is second with five.
Cluff also has nine games with 15-plus rebounds this season and eight of those have come since Summit League play started on Jan. 2.
