ORU’s Jones picks up third Kwik Star #SummitWBB weekly honor of season

Oral Roberts’ Jones secures third weekly award of the season after averaging 29.0 ppg in two wins

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Oral Roberts guard Taleyah Jones averaged 29.0 ppg and 5.0 rpg during a 2-0 week for the Golden Eagles earning her this week's Kwik Star Summit League Women's Basketball Peak Performer of the Week. This week's honor marks the third weekly award of the season for the junior.
 
In a 105-74 road win over Omaha, Jones set a season-high in points, scoring 30 points for ORU becoming the first Golden Eagle to drop 30 points in a game this season. In her season-high performance, she shot 52 percent (12-for-23) from the floor, pulled down five rebounds and dished out a pair of assists.
 
Jones followed up her 30-point game with a 28-point performance in the 109-88 victory over Kansas City. For the second consecutive game, she shot 52 percent (11-for-21) from the floor en route to her 28 points. Jones also grabbed six rebounds and tallied three assists in the win over the Roos.
