AROUND THE LEAGUE
  • For the third straight year, South Dakota State ran the table in the regular season to earn the No. 1 seed at the Summit League Women’s Basketball Championship for the fifth straight season.
  • The Jackrabbits, who have now reeled off 63 consecutive victories in regular season play dating back to the 2021-22 season, have won the past two tournament titles and 11 overall since 2008-09.
  • SDSU saw five players earn All-Summit League honors, including Head Coach Aaron Johnston taking home his ninth Coach of the Year award and fifth straight. The Jackrabbits’ leading scorers, Brooklyn Meyer (18.3 ppg, 5.7 rpg) and Paige Meyer (13.1 ppg, 5.8 rpg) were both named to the first team for the second straight year and were also selected to the All-Defensive team.
  • Oral Roberts, who owns the second most postseason titles among current members with five, finished second in the regular season with a 13-3 record, marking the ORU’s best finish since the 2011-12 campaign.
  • Jalei Oglesby (18.8 ppg, 53.7 FG%) and Taleyah Jones (21.2 ppg, 45.8 FG%), two of some of the highest-scoring players in the league, highlighted ORU’s award honorees. The duo earned a pair of first team selections while Oglesby picked up back-to-back Sixth Woman of the Year accolades.
  • North Dakota State earned the No. 3 seed and has finished among the top three in each of the past three seasons. The Bison saw four capture All-Summit League accolades with Avery Koenen highlighting the honorees with a spot on the first team.
  • Koenen (17.0 ppg, 8.1 rpg) ranked second among Summit players in rebounding and had eight 20-plus point scoring efforts, including a career-high 30 against Omaha in the regular season finale.
  • St. Thomas heads into the tournament as the No. 4 seed, the highest seed since joining the league four seasons ago. The Tommies had four claim All-Summit League honors, three of which were on the honorable mention squad.
  • The Tommie trio was made up of Jade Hill (14.1 ppg), Jo Langbehn (14.1 ppg) and Amber Scalia (15.8 ppg) as St. Thomas was the only league team to boast three players scoring 14 points or better per contest.
  • No. 5 seeded North Dakota put three on the All-Summit League award roster, including two individual honors in underclassmen Jocelyn Schiller (Freshman of the Year) and Fatima Ibrahim (Defensive Player of the Year). The individual honors are the first of any kind for UND since the Fighting Hawks joined the league prior to the 2017-18.
  • Schiller led all rookies in Summit scoring, averaging 16.3 ppg as she reached double figures in all 16 of her starts.
  • Ibrahim was the Summit’s top shot blocker, swatting away a total of 40 shots (2.5/g), which more than doubled the next closest player on the list (South Dakota State’s Mesa Byom had 18). She also averaged 7.0 rpg.
  • Sixth-seeded Kansas City picked up two All-Summit League awards from Alayna Contreras (second team) and Ana Oliveira Dias (newcomer team).
