SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The No. 2 seed Oral Roberts powered past No. 6 seed Kansas City with a commanding 95-73 victory in the second semifinal of the Summit League Women's Championship at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center. ORU’s high-paced offense proved too much for Kansas City, securing a spot in the championship game for the first time since 2010.

The Golden Eagles used a balanced scoring attack with Ruthie Uduomoh leading five players in double figures with 20 points. She added 15 rebounds as well to post her fifth double-double of the season and help ORU control the glass with a 45-39 advantage.

ORU scored 20-plus in all four quarters and stretched out a five-point lead after the opening 10 minutes to 15 by the half after outscoring the Roos 27-17. Sixth Woman of the Year Jalei Oglesby had nine of her 11 in the second quarter and as seven different Golden Eagles found the scoring column to give them a 48-33 lead at the break.

Alayna Contreras had six of her team-high 20 points for KC in the third quarter but her squad could not make a dent in the deficit as the Roos entered the final stanza still trailing by 15.

Turnovers were a big issue for KC, who saw ORU score 24 points off of 19 miscues by the Roos. Twelve of the Golden Eagles' 27 fourth-quarter points came off of six KC turnovers to help ORU wrap up a 22-point victory and score their most points in a tournament game since dropping 108 in a 2011 quarterfinal win over Western Illinois.

Uduomoh scored 12 of her game-high tally in that closing quarter as well going 9-for-16 from the field and 8-for-11 from the foul line. Emily Robinson added 19, Taleyah Jones chipped in with 18 and Makrya Tramble closed out the five double-figure scorers with 13.

Twin sisters Elauni and Emani Bennett added 17 and 16 points, respectively for the Roos, who finished their season in the semifinals for the second straight year.

Turning Point

The Roos were within nine at 42-33 but ORU closed the first half on a 6-0 spurt in the final 1:20 and was able to keep a double-digit lead throughout the remainder of the game.
