SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- All nine teams will kick off the 2025 #SummitWSOC season Thursday for the opening day of the women's collegiate soccer season. South Dakota, Omaha, and Kansas City will begin the year defending home turf, while St. Thomas, Oral Roberts, North Dakota, North Dakota State, South Dakota State, and Denver will be subject to opening the season on the road.
Preseason favorite North Dakota State travels to Green Bay Thursday before another road battle with BIG EAST foe Marquette on Sunday. South Dakota State, second ranked in the preseason poll, will be tested on the road against a pair of Power 4 opponents, Missouri and Kansas.
Nearly all of Thursday's matches will be televised/streamed. The Northern Iowa-South Dakota, St. Louis-Kansas City, and Northern Colorado-Omaha tilts can each be found on the Summit League Network.

• Preseason favorite, North Dakota State, will open the season on the road with trips to Wisconsin for matches against Green Bay and Marquette.
• The Bison return the league’s leading point and goal scorer from the 2024 season in Morgan Russman, who is also the reigning 2024 Offensive Player of the Year award winner and 2024 All-Summit League First Team honoree. Payton Mulberry, the 2024 Goalkeeper of the Year, will anchor the net once again for NDSU. The firepower doesn’t stop there as NDSU’s Devon Kavanagh was T-2nd in The Summit League for assists during the 2024 season.
• Russman was among 47 women selected for the United Soccer Coaches 2025 NCAA Division I Women’s Player’s to Watch - Forwards list.
• South Dakota State will be in search of their third consecutive tournament title. The Jackrabbits return Katelyn Beulke, the Summit League’s runner-up in goals this previous season.
• Among 2024 First Team returners, the Bison bring back Amaya Garrett, Russman, and Mulberry while Omaha’s Alyssa Kellar and Oral Roberts’ Julia Thasaphong also make their way back to the pitch.
• The Jacks begin the non-conference schedule with back-to-back roadtrips to Power 4 oppenents, Missouri and Kansas.
• Denver will open their season with two in-state foes, traveling to Air Force on Thursday and Colorado College on Sunday.
• The Yotes start the year facing Northern Iowa at home before heading to Des Moines for a battle with Drake.
