#SummitWSOC Weekly Notebook: No. 5

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Summit League women's soccer standings are starting to heat up as South Dakota (14 pts), Oral Roberts (13 pts), Kansas City (12 pts), North Dakota State (12 pts), and South Dakota State (12 pts) are all within striking distance of 1st place North Dakota (15 pts). NDSU, KC, and USD each picked up a victory in the fourth week of action, while SDSU grabbed the lone draw of the week.
 
The Fighting Hawks look to snap their 3-game skid and get back on track at Boise State on Thursday and at Idaho State on Sunday.
 
On a two-game win streak, South Dakota will stay in Vermillion for a home contest with Northern Colorado on Thursday before travelling to Omaha for a tilt against Creighton Sunday afternoon.

• South Dakota secured a 1-0 victory on Sunday at home against Central Michigan in their lone match of the week, boosting the Coyotes to second place in the Summit League standings.
• Midfielder Morgan Sullivan notched USD’s only goal while goalkeeper Cambell Fischer recorded her second clean sheet of the year for the Yotes.
• Atop of the Summit League standings, the Fighting Hawks enter the week with a trip to Idaho containing matches at Boise State on Thursday and Idaho State on Sunday.
• NDSU picked up a lopsided 6-0 victory against Clarke on Thursday night to claim their third consecutive win before dropping the following match vs. UC Santa Barbara.
• During Thursday’s match, sophomore Morgan Russmann tallied her fourth career brace while moving into the Top 10 for goals in North Dakota State’s Division I era, tying Brooklyn Dyce (2009-2012) with 14 career scores at No. 10.
• Kansas City sophomore Breckynn Pugh delivered a strike to the back of the net to register her first career game-winning goal and take down Marquette 1-0 in their Thursday night showdown. Pugh celebrated her birthday the night of the match, starting alongside her twin Olyvia Pugh.
• Roos’ netminder Audrey Brown secured one save and claimed the shutout against the Golden Eagles.
• Oral Roberts overcame a first half deficit at Tulsa to retain the Mayor’s Cup after a 2-2 draw Sunday night.
• Redshirt junior Brianna Castleberry equalized the score in the 89th minute for the Golden Eagles to cap off the thriller. She also collected one assist in the match, placing her tied 1st on the Summit League assists leaderboard (5).
• After dropping their road tilt to Drake 2-1, Omaha looks to rebound and secure a victory over cross-town rival Creighton on Wednesday night.
• Denver enters the week with duels against a pair of in-state foes as the Pioneers are slated to face Colorado on Thursday and Colorado State on Sunday. Both matches will be played at DU.
