SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — Summit League women’s volleyball programs combined for 11 wins in the second week of the season, highlighted by 3-0 performances from both St. Thomas and Denver, along with a 2-0 weekend from South Dakota State. South Dakota and North Dakota State also secured key victories during the weekend.
All nine Summit League volleyball teams will be in action this week, competing across nine different states. South Dakota, North Dakota, North Dakota State, and Kansas City are all set to host home matches.
Several programs are set to challenge nationally ranked opponents this weekend. Oral Roberts opens the week against Texas Southern on Thursday, followed by matchups with No. 24 UCLA on Friday and (RV) UTEP on Saturday. South Dakota State takes on (RV) Dayton on Friday, (RV) South Florida on Saturday, and No. 13 Minnesota on Sunday. South Dakota hosts Green Bay on Thursday, Florida Gulf Coast on Friday, and wraps up the weekend with a marquee matchup against No. 17 Kansas on Saturday night.
North Dakota State welcomes Idaho and Kent State to Fargo on Thursday and Saturday, respectively. North Dakota will host UTSA on Thursday, Kent State on Friday, and Idaho on Saturday morning in Grand Forks.
St. Thomas heads east to Rhode Island for matchups with Army and Bryant on Friday, and Stony Brook on Saturday. Kansas City will also travel east to Illinois, facing Central Michigan and Jacksonville State on Friday, then Bradley on Saturday before returning home to host Western Illinois on Tuesday.
Denver travels to Boulder for a weekend slate that includes Toledo on Friday, Arkansas on Saturday, and Colorado on Sunday. Omaha heads to Iowa, where the Mavericks will take on Saint Louis and Iowa State to close out the weekend.

• Denver, North Dakota State, St. Thomas, South Dakota and South Dakota State all picked up victories during the second week of the women’s college volleyball season.
• Denver’s Genevieve Lewis posted 37 kills in a 3-0 weekend for the Pioneers. She hit a blistering .524 against Texas Southern and .414 against Idaho State.
• North Dakota State’s Lauren Jansen recorded her fifth career double-double against Montana with 12 kills and a team-best 14 digs. The junior earned a spot on the Ellesyn Invitational All-Tournament Team.
• South Dakota State’s 3-0 sweep over Ole Miss was the programs first ever win over an SEC team.
• USD’s Lauren Medeck leads the league in total kills (90) and recorded a double double in all three matches during the second weekend of play. The sophomore tallied 18 kills and 14 digs against UCONN, 17 kills and 13 digs against Colgate, and 16 kills and 11 digs vs Ball State.
• St. Thomas’s Ellie Gustfson was named the tournament MVP of the Molly Howard-Gerwig Memorial Tournament while Megan Wetter and Morgan Kealy were also named to the all-tournament team after a 3-0 weekend.
• Omaha’s Kali Jurgensmeier continued building a strong start to her senior season with 45 kills and a weekend hitting percentage of .328 across the three-day stretch. Jurgensmeier leads the league in hitting percentage at .397 and kills per set at 4.75. She ranks 14th nationally in kills per set.
• UND’s Paige Barber earned a spot on the West Virginia Classic All-Tournament team after recording 37 kills, 15 digs, and seven total blocks in three matches
• ORU’s Rachel Resta recorded her second double-double of the season and fifth of her career against Bucknell.
• Kansas City placed middle blocker Ledisi Kpea on the Saluki Bash All-Tournament Team. Kpea recorded 22 kills and 6.5 total blocks during the three-game stretch.
