SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Denver guard Carson Johnson corralled the latest Kwik Star Summit League Men’s Basketball Peak Performer of the Week accolade, securing the first of his career, league officials announced Tuesday.
Johnson helped the Pioneers snap a three-game skid after scoring a career-high 33 in a 98-87 home win over Oral Roberts Wednesday. He scored 24 of those in the first half as DU raced out to a 56-45 halftime lead.
The Ankeny, Iowa native went 9-for-16 from the field and 4-for-7 from beyond the arc to net his second 30-plus point game of the season. The 33 points were also the most by a Summit League player in a game this season.
