SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – North Dakota guard Greyson Uelmen collected the latest Kwik Star Summit League Men’s Basketball Peak Performer of the Week accolade, securing the first of his career, league officials announced Tuesday.
Uelmen, who is the second freshman to earn the distinction this season, averaged 22.0 ppg to lead the Fighting Hawks to a pair of road wins and 6-2 start in Summit play.
The Excelsior, Minn., native opened his week with 14 points and an 8-for-8 effort at the foul line in a 79-62 win at Oral Roberts. He also added three assists and two boards against the Golden Eagles.
He capped the week with a 30-point outing in a 93-86 win at Denver when he scored 21 second-half points, including a 3-pointer in the final minute that put the game out of reach for the Pioneers.
It was the first 30-point game by a UND freshman since the 2010-11 season. He finished 9-for-15 from the field, including 3-for-6 from deep at DU, while also making 9-of-13 free throws.
