SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – North Dakota State forward Avery Koenen earned the latest Summit League Women’s Basketball Kwik Star Peak Performer of the Week accolade, league officials announced Tuesday. The weekly honor is Koenen’s fifth of her career and fourth of the season, matching South Dakota State's Brookyln Meyer for the most in the league.
Koenen was stellar in the conference opener, recording her ninth double-double of the season as NDSU knocked off Oral Roberts on the road, 76-68. The junior finished with 16 points and a game-high 14 rebounds, adding a block and two steals to cap a complete performance. The victory marked NDSU’s first win in Tulsa since 2009 and its fourth straight win in the Summit League opener.
In the Bison’s second league contest, the Montevideo, Minn., native continued her dominant stretch, posting game-highs of 25 points and 11 rebounds in an 81-44 road rout of Denver. The effort secured NDSU’s 11th consecutive win and marked Koenen’s 10th double-double of the season, tied for fourth nationally.
