SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – St. Thomas guard Nick Janowski earned the latest Kwik Star Summit League Men’s Basketball Peak Performer of the Week accolade, garnering the first of his career and first by a league freshman this season, league officials announced Tuesday. The Tommies are also the first program with multiple players to earn the weekly nod this season.
Janowski and the Tommies only played once during the opening week of conference action but he dropped a career-high 31 points to lead St. Thomas to a 92-88 win over Denver Sunday. He was the 11
th Division I freshman to score 30-plus in a game this season.
The Pewaukee, Wis., native scored 19 of his game-high tally in the second half, allowing the Tommies to extend the nation’s longest home-court winning streak to 26 straight.
Janowski, who redshirted at Nebraska a season ago, finished 12-for-22 from the field, including a 3-for-8 effort from beyond the arc and added a team-high seven rebounds for the Tommies.
